RIM: Global BlackBerry Outages Due To European Backup Failure

sxtopRIM held a quick press conference call today to address the ongoing outages which started in Europe but have spread to the rest of the world, including the US. Destructibles: Instructions for Evil Idiots

DIY activism. So edgy! If you want to know how to cause low-level chaos with minimal long-term effectiveness, this here site's your place: Destructables dishes tips on installing your own ad in a public phone booth, switching up food labels to something snarky, and other ineffectual ways to beat your chest and howl in the night at an unjust world that can only be made right through prankery. LEAKED APPLE DOCUMENT ALERT. Except this time it's just in-store training so that the blue-shirts can put iCloud in a palatable lingua suburbia. For you, sir, it would be like a lit doctoral candidate skimming the Reader's Digest version of [9to5Mac]

Acacia Research, a company that has likewise (and so far unsuccessfully) sued Apple and others over touchscreen graphical interface blah blah money money IP is broken. Right? They'll either get paid or they won't, but no result is going to stop Kindle Fire from showing up on your doorstep November 15th. [BGR]
Left Behind is our daily collection of chaff we didn't think was quite good enough to post on its own, and why.

What Happens When You Tell iPhone 4S' Siri That You Love Her? (And Other Weird Things) [Video]

We've seen a really impressive, albeit polished, video look at Siri working on the iPhone 4S already but this video is a little more thorough and a lot more real life-ish. She's still impressively smart but she's not perfect. More »
